The Overton window is the range of ideas a society treats as legitimate at a given moment. Those boundaries are not natural or inevitable. They are set by power, by media narratives and by cultural pressure, and too often by narrow interests that decide which ideas are acceptable and which are silenced. We exist to widen them.
We do it with research, education and open debate. This is not about winning arguments. It is about preserving free speech and changing what can be argued at all.
The Overton Institute widens the range of policy ideas that can be seriously debated in the United States and Europe. We do it by research, education and open discussion, and by the evidence we publish.
We believe the West is worth defending, and we work from a conservative starting point: national sovereignty, the family, free speech, and the inheritance of Western civilization.
Its citizens are entitled to debate every question that bears on their future, and evidence, not fashion, should decide which ideas are acceptable.
We take positions, and we back them up.
